Illinois American Water will close downtown streets and they are blaming it on Marriot Hotel construction

In conjunction with the construction for the Marriot Hotel, Illinois American Water has some work to perform on Main st between Madison and Monroe. We will need to close the Outside Southbound lane as well as the parking lane, in order to safely perform our work. Traffic will be limited to one Southbound lane. We plan to begin the work on Wednesday, January 2nd. The work is expected to continue until restoration has been completed, Thursday, January 17th, weather and conditions permitting. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we make these needed changes to our infrastructure.
