For those who don’t know, this site uses WordPress Multi-User. One of the folks responsible for much of the goodness found here has written a brief history of the endeavor.

One of these days, when I have a week or so free time, I’m going to upgrade all the themes so that all of them use Widgets and none of them have issues with the newest version.

Maybe after I get fired.

I made payment arrangements last week, but they forgot to actually mark the invoices for blogpeoria.com and peoriapundits.com as paid. Therefore, both sites got suspended today. Within moments — after a trouble ticket was issued — blogpeoria.com was up. Still waiting on peoriapundit.com

Ok, I’m an idiot.

I spend a lot of my free time yesterday trying to find out exactly what was causing the errors on so many member blogs. I did Google searches and sent trouble tickets to my server people and I posted please for help on the WordPress bulletin board. Finally, someone posted something to the effect of “You did click the repair button in MySQL didn’t you?”

Ummmm …

About two minutes later, the error messages seemed to have vanished and I seem to be able to leave comments at sites that were having problems.

Unfortunately, the one site that’s having the worst problems is THIS ONE. A ton of posts I’ve made to the front page of The Blog Peoria Project seem to have vanished. Damn. I’ll have to keep looking for them. I’m also gonna have to get Sidebar Widgets working for this site, too.

The “repair” button, huh. Gonna have to remember that trick.
